Course Introduction
Welcome to Energy and Earth's Climate! In this course, we will cover the basics of what energy is, why humans need it, and how humans get it.
The short answer to that last question is that right now, we get it from burning fossil fuels. There are two problems with that:
- Earth's supply of fossil fuels is limited
- Burning fossil fuels has consequences for Earth's climate
So what should we do? What can we do? The goal of this course is to cover the basics, so students gain a fundamental understanding of the tension that exists today between energy and environment.
