Spatial Point Pattern Analysis
Spatial Point Pattern Analysis sxr133In classical spatial point pattern analysis, standard statistical concepts are applied to the description and assessment of spatial point patterns, using the concept of a spatial process. The essential idea is to compare observed patterns on maps (i.e., what we see in the world) to the patterns we expect based on some model of a spatial process. In this lesson, you will examine spatial patterns created using a variety of methods and then examine some real spatial data to better understand what processes might be driving different spatial patterns.
